Brett
Harnett
Technical
Supervisor
Prior to joining the NASA program at Yale
University two and a half years ago, Brett worked as a consultant,
network administrator and system integrator. He has spent
much of his adult life immersed in data collection, imaging
and telecommunications explaining his digital dementia.
However he does have a real life beyond bits and bytes...
Many people look at him with astonishment when he says he
turned down the opportunity to go to Everest because it
conflicted with golf season.
Brett's responsibilities include the oversight
of digital and analog traffic used to support the real-time
conferences, data capture and analysis using a custom designed
relational database models as well as administrating the
transmission of IP traffic for real-time physiologic monitoring
from the mountainside. In the event of an emergency, he
has outlined the protocol for multi-platform assistance
from physicians at the Yale Medical Center and collaborating
partners around the world.
Brett's goal in life is to ride on the space
shuttle any way possible. He has volunteered removal of
a non-critical organ using experimental robotic surgery
while in orbit. Some have suggested his brain.
