Dr. Chris Macedonia demonstrates to our host, Italian Research Station Field Manager Peter Verza, the use of Doppler Ultrasound.


Dr. Chris Macedonia uses Doppler Ultrasound to measure changes in the size of the carotid artery on Dr. Ken Kamler. Such changes are a measure of acclimatization.

It is amazing how our Sherpas can set up their cooking operations in the middle of nowhere, and in a very short time. At night, their lanterns from within the tarps cast a cozy and inviting glow.

Compaq's Uninteruptable Power Source keeps E3 equipment safe from power failures.
